Renew Florida Auto Tags now to save 50%

florida97On September 1st, Florida is increasing our ridiculously low fees for auto tag renewal (and everything else DMV-related). If your tags are set to expire in August, September, October or November, you can go into the DMV now and renew at the current low price. If your renewal happen in December of this year or later, you’re out of luck.

Also keep in mind that you can renew for 2 years at a time, so you’ll probably want to lock this rate in for 2 years. Remember, you’ve only got till September 1st to do this!

Even with these increases, Florida has some of the lowest fees around for this kind of stuff, so quit your whining, old people!

Here are some of the Florida fee increases set to happen:

Initial Auto Registration Fee:
Currently: $100
New: $225
Increase of: $125 (wow!)

Auto Renewal Fee (1-2499 lbs):
Currently: $28.10
New: $46.65
Increase of: $18.55

Auto Renewal Fee (2500-3499 lbs):
Currently: $36.10
New: $57.65
Increase of: $21.55

Auto Renewal Fee (3500-up):
Currently: $46.10
New: $71.15
Increase of: $25.05

Replace Plate Fee:
Currently: $20.10
New: $43.15
Increase of: $23.05

Gosh… the way people were talking… I thought the fees were going up 100’s of dollars. Those tag increases are not so bad. It could be much worse…

Dave, your “quit your whining, old people” comment indicates what an ignorant ass you are!

How old are you, anyway…9 years old?

Maybe when you reach puberty, you will start acting a little more like an adult.

    Grow up!

Well, it would be nice if they anticipated the increased online renewal attempts.

I’ve been trying to renew for hours.
Really sucks that I can’t do this.

I didn’t even get a renewal notice in the mail this year… guess they are saving postage too, plus charging us the big bucks.
